20 Apr Pedalling for MacMillan
In case you didn’t know, Team Mustard are gearing up, and training hard for the fast approaching Suffolk 100 Sportive.
We are doing it for two reasons:
- To raise money for the fantastic charity that is MacMillan Cancer Support
- To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mustard Creative!
Here’s an update on how everyone’s training is going:
Roger B is using this weekend’s DAP CC road race at Ringsfield, and the weekly Godric chaingang (with a few beers afterwards of course) to get his legs in shape for June.
Gemma B has clocked up 550 miles so far in 2017, using a recent trip to the Paris-Roubaix pro race in Belgium to hone her form on the cobblestones.
Morris B has taken part in several road races so far this season across East Anglia, and has had some good results with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place so far. His crusade to get to 1st-category status continues, and Morris will be using the Suffolk 100 to test his legs with/against the rest of Team Mustard.
Roger W continues to log some good consistent mileage this year, having already cycled over 1000 miles, mostly as part of his work commute. He did a 55-mile loop to Framlingham at the weekend, and realised he needed an EVEN bigger breakfast to keep his pedalling fuelled for the long haul!
Ian D has started training after almost 20 years of not riding bike and he’s loving it! So much so that he will be buying a road bike any minute. So far Ian has done a couple of 15-milers south of Ipswich and is already seeing improvements in his fitness.
